This project based, introductory level course teaches students the fundamentals of computer science and programming while allowing them to use their creativity to design and develop web sites and 2D animation. The course is aimed at students with little or no programming experience who wish to develop their creative expression skills in conjunction with professional-level software development techniques. Students will learn the basics of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and image editing through the development of well designed, highly functional web sites and createive and fun images and animations.

Download Practice

You will need to be able to download a file and a zip folder from Google for this course. Please follow these directions to make sure you know how to do both.
Download a File
To download a file from Google
  1. Click on the link to open the file
  2. In the upper right corner, look for the download link (typically a down arrow with a line). Click the download link.
  3. Most browsers will automatically begin the download and save the file to your downloads folder. If your browser shows the file (lower left on PC, upper right on Mac), you can click the arrow next to it and select "Show In Folder" to locate the file on your machine.
  4. Move the file to the location of your choice.
Download an Archive
A zip archive is a compressed version of several files making it easier to transfer. Prior to working with the files in an archive, the archive must be unzipped. To download and unzip an archive:
  1. Click on the link to access the archive.
  2. Locate and click the download button.
  3. Click the arrow next to the download and "Show in Folder".
  4. Double click the zip folder.
  5. Click on the "Extract All" button at the top of the window.
  6. Choose the location to extract to (if a change of location is desired).
  7. Click the "Show Extracted Files When Complete" box and click Extract.
  8. Move the files to your location of choice.
