Storyboards

A storyboard is a document that shows a sketch of each page and lists all necessary media/links for the page. The creation of storyboards allows a developer to create pages separate from the designer as all necessary info to create the page is included in the storyboards. An example of a storyboard for a web page is as follows:


In order to create a complete and effective storyboard, designers must first have a complete set of content and media, as this is the core of the pages. Additionally, designers must know the directory structure (where the pages and images are stored) and how users will proceed through the site (navigation/order).

Ideally, a programmer with no knowledge of your project, should be able to take a storyboard page and complete it without any additional assistance.
