Pixlr is a free, online graphics editor by Autodesk. The suite provides many of the tools that industry leader Adobe offers in Photoshop. For simple web graphics, Pixlr is a great option. Files can be saved in layered mode for future editing or in compressed modes for display in computer programs.
The labs provide step by step instruction in how to use the basic tools of Pixlr. The practice problems provide students with exercises to hone their skills.
To save work to the cloud, students will need to sign into pixlr and create an account. To create a pixlr account, follow these steps:
- Go to pixlr.com/editor
- Close the pop up window.
- In the upper right corner, click on "Login".
- Click the "Sign in with Google" button on the right.
- Complete the Google Sign in with your google account. (if there is an error message in the upper corner blocking flash, click to enable flash this time).
- You now have a pixlr account and can save images to the cloud.
