What is a Computer
A computer is an electronic device for storing and processing data, typically in binary form, according to instructions given to it in a variable program. We use computers increasingly in our lives.
Computer Terms
- Hardware: the actual physical pieces that a computer is constructed from
- Software: the operating system and other programs that help the hardward communicate to perform tasks
- Input: devices that allow a user to send information into the computer such as keyboard, microphone, camera, scanner, etc
- Output: devices that connect to a computer that send information back to the user such as monitor, speaker, printer, etc.
